Be Fit, Reasons I Decided to Get Fit

Monday, September 01, 2014

I was never the best fit girl of the group, and I was always ok with it. I was what people generally call "slender". I maintained my body shape considerably until my daughter was born, in December 2011.

2 weeks before my daughter was born
During my pregnancy I kept looking at the scale going up, trying to walk as much was possible and watched everything I ate, but I still I gain 45 lbs. I planned my entire pregnancy, had my mind set on having all natural, not even planned on having an epidural, in my dreams I kept repeating to myself "Grandma had 12 children, all of them at home, I can do this too". I was also not looking "that fat", so i thought I was good.

Me, 30 Days after my daughter was born
To prove me even more wrong, I had to have an emergency c-section and had complications after that. I never had a surgery in my life, never even had a broken bone before, and I just didn't know how to handle it. Still, one month after having Sophia, I was already pushing her in a stroller around the suburbs of Chicago, even with all the cold outside, I encourage myself to get out of the house as much as I could.

Me, in September 1st, 2014. 2 years and 9 months after Sophia's birth.
Fast forward almost 3 years later and I have not lost the baby weight. To get back to the weight I was the day I found out I was pregnant, as today, I have to shed 34 lbs. I went from the person that loved photography, always want pictures with friends, to the mom that is always hiding behind the camera. Everytime someone asks me to be in the picture, I say no, and I have an excuse I tell myself always, "the clothes I am wearing are not flattering", "I don't have make up on", "I look too tired", "I am jet lagged", and I can go on and on here.

Reasons to be fit
As I looked the picture above from today I broke down and made a deal with myself that I will be better for myself, so I am counting on this blog to keep me motivated and hold me accountable in every part of my journey to get back in the shape I had when I got pregnant, and be better from years to come for my daughter.

For starters I am setting goals to myself and being realist about them. On ModelmyDiet.com you can create a virtual dummie of your body to give you an idea of what to look for.

Also got my profile updated on Fitbit.com so I can enjoy the cheers from my "friends" as I use my Fitbit One.

Cross your fingers, or not! but I am going to accomplish my goal!

♥ Enjoy!
